69 z28 emblem help
i just got these in but these have 3 points sticking out, i guess they went into the fender.... but i thought they were going to be flat.
anyone who has these, did they come this way? and if so how did you flaten out the surface?
i was thinking some clippers may do the job but then how would i smooth out the surface?
i'll post a pic of them up later?

Yes, that's how they come. They're also not contoured to fit your fender correctly, so you'll have to re-bend them.
Clip off the points, then grind them flat. Put the emblems under a couple layers of soft cloth and use either a hammer (gently!) or a vice to flatten them. From there do some test fittings to see which areas have to be recurved to fit your fender. Took me about 3 hours in all. Good luck.

where are you putting these? you can drill holes into your panel and then just use some epoxy to make sure it sticks well. or yes you can snip the mounting ends then grind them down to be flush with the rest of the emblem and use either 2-sided tape or epoxy as well.

Try using some fifhing line to peel them off, just cut a foot long section of line and slide it between the body and emblem, it should peel right off. You will have to use some sort of cleaner to get the rest of the adhesive off(not sure what though). After that you can use some 3m double sided tape and stick it on, but if you need to bend it be very very careful it will break very easy, trust me I learned the hard way.

these will go on the fender in front of the wheel, getting a hockey stripe and im going to put that in the break.
as far as the fishing line to remove the emblem, do i need to heat the emblem and adhesive up with a hair dryer?
