Default super rich...loads up, anyone have ideas?

5.3L w/ 42# injectors. In a 72 nova. I can not get it to run right at all. I have the turbo pipes disconnected and it will idle, but touch the gas pedal and it loads up, coughs and runs rough blowing black smoke then wants to die.

I started w/ a stock LS1 tune and setup to run SD, I reduced the VE table by 60% and it still does this. I have the Injector flow rate set at 42 all across.
other than that anything I need to do?

Is there something im not seeing that is just dumping fuel in? anything i didnt change i was supposed to?

40psi. I might have figured it out. It idles but touch the gas instant load up. I let it idle for awhile to see if my fan would come on, it ran for along time, pcm said it was at 286 degrees and the radiator never got more than warm. So my thermostat isnt opening or my water pump has issues.

TPS issues? The fact that touching the throttle could indicate something in that input, is FUBAR??

My guess is that your super-rich condition is really a super-lean condition.
Lean misfires with smell and burn your eyes with raw fuel out the exhaust.
It's easily confused for being too rich.
You might want to start with putting the VE back to stock and see how that acts.
