Question Cost of built & stock LS1 engine + trans?

I might be buying an LS1 TA soon, but the engine, maybe trans too, could last for another 20k miles or another 20 miles. It burns about 1 qt of oil every 1-2k miles so at the very least the rings are shot. Car has over 100k miles on it. I'd pretty much be buying it for the body.

I'm wondering how much I'm looking at spending on a lowerer mileage H/C LS1 engine + stock (or maybe built) auto trans.

I'm not talking about buying new built motor from a vendor or anything. I'd be on the forums hunting for deals. I just wanted to get an idea of what a h/c LS1 engine is going for these days as well as a stock decent mileage LS1 engine. Also how much am I looking at to have the engine swapped?

TIA

he said he wanted a tranny to.....sooo 4k, but yea an engine can be found for cheaper...im getting a new ls1 as a matter of fact cause mine blew under warranty and i think its gonna cost a couple hundred in labor....rebuilding and just getting a new one....comes out to around the same...the rebuilding takes alot more in labor, when you can just a new one in.....if you get a used one try to do some test on it...compression check, psi checks, etc...

You'll be looking at about $1000 to get the old motor pulled, wiring harness, sensors, mounts, misc. crap switched over, and put all back in. I think the book specifies that at about 12 hrs.
