Who offers the best forged blower LS6 shortblock for the best bang for the $
Title says it all. I don't plan on building a new motor until my stock LS6 motor in my 02 Z06, blown by a ECS D1SC kit gives up the ghost, but i HATE downtime and thinking about making a move soon on a 346/7 forged LS6 shortblock (just to have it ready when i need it or decide to throw it in).
When i go to a forged motor I will be looking to make 700rwhp and run up to about 14 lbs of boost. What tuner offers the best bang for the buck QUALITY/STOUT, blower shortblock that can withstand these types of boost levels day in and day out!!
I know (ECS) East Coast SuperCharging offers a very stout quality forged 346/7 LS6 shortblock for around $3,600.00 but was wondering if another quality option (not cheap unproven parts) exists for less than $3,000 range without a core charge (and must be brand new from a reputable LS1/6 speed shop). I know of a few budget buy options but they are not really rated up to 800HP at the crank levels and need something that is going to last for a LONG TIME after getting beat on pretty good!!!

W2W(Wheel to Wheel) has a nice shortblock, all forged(including crank) for around $3K..Its not listed on their site. Try PM Kurt (goes by 427 on here) or Kevin@W2W for a price and specs. I have heard nothing but good stuff about them..

How are the Compstar's compared to the Callies? Also how about the Mahle compared to the Wiesco with lowered rings for boost?

I got my ET265 last week so we are officialy off and running! Kurt and I talked about head gaskets and decided to run the new Cometic gaskets with the nitrogen rings so they should be here Mon or Tues. The rear end stuff is pretty sweet but I'll let Stenod post them up when he is ready to show it off.

I would say get one done locally. If you have a problem, you will go thru less in trying to get it resolved. You have a number of good shops near you: FLP, Speed Inc., etc.
After hearing about some of the "well respected tuners" and some of the issues (anybody can have an oops), I am glad I went local. Sometimes saving a few pennies isn't worth it.
