The local chevy dealer quoted me these prices for the following items...

1. Fuel Filter $25
2. Pair of header gaskets $24
3. Air filter $33
4. T56 rear seal $46

are these decent prices? also does anyone know the gm part numbers for these items, so I could compare them to online sites?

Hmmmm... no...

But then again, some people thing that Advance Auto parts are junk. Personally, I had only one problem with a rebuilt caliper on an old car. They replaced it with no questions asked.

P.S. I like your ride. It must be a real PITA to keep those calipers clean!

Don't buy anything from the stealership unless you absolutely have to. Their prices are completely absurd. I just replaced a buddie's pinion seal the other day and he bought his parts from the dealer. They charged him $9 for a diff cover gasket and $19 for the pinion seal!!!!

Thanks guys, I guess I'll just get the header gaskets from them. That's the only thing I really need right now anyway.

jkichline, the rear calipers stay pretty clean. The fronts seem to get dirty faster and the wheels have to be removed to clean them. I highly recommend polishing yours though. It really sets it apart from other cars.

Maybe someday. If I can get to the point where I can keep the paint clean (3 kids, 4 road vehicles, 4-wheeler, 2 tractors, and more), I'll definitely do that. I'm sure I'll have 200k on the ticker before that happens!

There is a 93-02 Camaro parts manual floating around on the net. If you have hi speed internet you should google it and download it, it is about 130 megs.

Once you got this you can look up PN's yourself and check prices at sites. If you tend order parts in batches and plan ahead, you can save a lot of money doing this.

It also makes it easier to call around with a part number and find the cheapest dealership. The price you get from a dealer can vary by a lot. Some use straight list, some give a hefty discount.

In Detroit I know of one dealership that quotes about 30-40% less than others around, prices similar to gmpartsdirect sometimes even cheaper because of no shipping fees. If you live in a big area chances are you have a dealer like that too.

if your talking about the manifold gasets (the ones from the manifold to the cats) then orielys can get them i don't have part number but they are less than 5 bucks a peice.
