Is this normal wear
My 1998 Z28 has been pissing me off lately. In the last year ~6,000 miles, I have had to change the water pump, the alternator and now the power steering pump and hoses. The car is a '98 but it only has 46,500 miles (bought with 29,000) on it and I don't drive it that hard. I open her up once maybe twice a week usually 15-70 mph but never hit redline or 5k for that matter. Is this normal wear because my '00 has 40,000 miles and nothing has gone wrong. I am not the original owner but my uncle was and i know that he didnt drive it hard at all. Any ideas?

ive had my power steering pump go out, but that was probably because of the donuts i was doing at the time. It's pretty common for the ps pump to blow if you're sliding around or whatnot. As far as the alternator goes, maybe your sound system is using too much juice or something, I don't really know I'm just throwing **** out there.

Mine has 54k miles and the power steering line leaks and the pump whines, used Lucas additive and no leaks but still whines when cold. Around 20-30k miles I had lots of things go wrond. Rearend rebuilt twice and I never race, the driverside cat and 02 sensor, power steering gear in the rack, the whole top replaced because of bubbling, brake rotors warp every 3k miles fixed that with Powerslots.
