You have to stip the paint off of them and use some sandpaper on the curb rash. If you want to just repaint them, I would just go to a 220 grit sandpaper.

i am currently doing this to some ZR1s. i have bead blasted 2 of them and are in the process of polishing them badboys. its taking a lot of time sanding all the imperfections out and will maybe post pics this weekend if i get one of them done.

BTW are yours painted, polished or chrome??? chrome you are going to be able to do much other than polish. polished alum. its will take some work and if they are stock you have to remove the clear. and painted ones are the eaisest. i painted my ZR1's black, silver, and now polishing them

Sorry to jump in, but I think this question will be usefull:

Has anyone found a silver spray paint (rattle cans) that is the same silver as the OEM wheel paint?

Please post up the brand name, color name, and where it's typically found.

One of my wife's rims is trashed. Clear coat is pretty much gone and the silver paint is turning white. I want to pull that wheel, dismount the tire, bead blast the wheel and re-shoot it.

i am not really sure. lots of different brands out there, you just have too look and get the right color that you want. i have a 55 gallon drum of aircraft stripper that i use. not sure where you can get it though.
