So I think I blew my slave trying to adjust my master?
Put a clutch in the car when I swapped the motor and when i took it for a drive the clutch was slipping pretty good. I figured the mc leod master needed to be adjusted. now i dont know much about clutches, but figuring the best i could, i was supposed to turn the head of master cyl to unthread it some to get more throw. I did this once with just a few turns and it didnt do much good. Then I did it again. This time I think I did it too much and when I pushed the clutch in, I heard a pop and then there was clutch fluid all over the floor under the bell housing and there is zero pressure.
Was I adjusting the clutch the wrong way?
Did i most likely blow my master and my slave, or just the slave?
This sucks

Then you have to ask yourself, "Did I really need an adjustable master cylinder?" I don't really see the need for one when the stock GM Master does the job. Unless of course you aftermarket clutch guys need the ability to adjust due to different manufacturer specs and tolerances. Sorry to hear about your situation man, that sux.

If you adjust it to get more stroke than the system can handle, you're going to end up breaking the master, slave, or both! Sorry man.

Your always going to have the same amount of throw from the pedal.
Think of it this way, the adjustment is moving the master's piston up or down the bore in the rest position.
You adjust the freeplay out of the pedal that is the proper method. The freeplay is that little cush in the pedal that the master is not compressing fluid. You need to leave a little in there so there is not excess pressure exerted on the slave w/ the pedal up. It will change alittle also as the fluid heats up, I like to adjust them warm.
That will give you the proper pedal & least wear on parts.
