Default no good rings for 3.905 in 1/16,1/16,3/16?

Got Wiescos pistons in a 3.905 bore and cant find anything except moly rings.
Anyone know of anyone that has better rings in those sizes?

I always had a bitch of a time finding rings for my old pistons. 3.910, same stack as yours.

The standard moly rings just wouldn't last, and 4" was the smallest I could track down for a hell fire ring.

Part of the reason we found the ring stack first this time, and cut the pistons to match

BTW, best I could do at that time was a gapless top total seal set. Atleast the leakdown stayed solid.

THe issue is the size ring for the Wiesco pistons.
Childs and albert has a chrome plated stainless top with ductile iron second.
I cant find the part number, but thats where I got them.

Moly rings aren't good for boost / N20 apps. The extreme heat can cause the moly to flake off.

Guess it just depends on how much boost your running whether or not moly rings will be ok. If W2W says its ok then I'd trust that.

W2W main engine builder, BILLY BRIGGS, told me the same thing over the phone today (5-12-06), as i am thinking of hiring them to build my forged LS6 shortblock and from what i have heard that man knows his ****!!

I just had LME recommend for a custom -12cc boost wiseco piston to run NPR stainless chrom rings 1.2 1.2 3mm rings. They said this is the way to go for what you would be looking for if you wanted to avoid the potential flaking of moly plasma rings!

We have a nice ring pack for the 3.905" bore 1/16 1/16 3/16.

It is a stainless chrome top, moly second. It will hold up to anything you can throw at it.

The moly second is a bit of an over kill... however it is very strong.

You can give us a call if you still need some rings. I have one set in stock.

Thanks,
Bryan
