Street Racing & Kill Stories - C6 Zo6 vs. Some 5.0

Well guys I was out cruising around town in my Lt1 car mods in sign and I see a Zo6 at the light and just before I got there some 5.0 comes flying bye so I roll up behind him and he of course gives it some rev's, It sounds pretty mean so I look at my buddy and he says watch the Vette hand this 5.0 his ass!! The light turns green and they both go sideways and I watch this 5.0 spin pass the Zo6, with my eyes in disbelief that my dream car just lost! I look at my buddy and say turn on my bottle now :devil: ! I'm not letting this happen today. I pull up to the 5.0 about 50mph and purge he looks over and I drop 2nd and he does the same and he hits it and so do I spinning and jump out a car and he pulls back beside me and starts pulling I let out about 140mph and he's got a good car on me! I pull back up and try to talk to him and he flicks me off and hauls ass! Talk about a bad day. Me and a C6 Zo6 get beat up on at the same time.

I bet that guys adrenaline was so pumped that he was in shock and still in pissed-cuz-i-gotta-win mode,lol. He probably pulled over a few miles later and cleaned his drawers because he beat the new z06 and felt the power of those TRUE bragging rights hit his brain. Wow....what an asshat. Sorry, thats just weak. Having a fast car in no way entitles you to be the ass. Just like looking like a model or having lots of money doesnt impress me one bit if you act the bitch, neither was that impressive. Good loss to a deserving car and undeserving owner.

not hard for those little 5.0s to be fast. You could race my friend's notchback. Runs mid 10s and it looks and sounds almost stock :)

yeah, this time, he hasn't put a cage or even a set of seats and harnesses in. Needless to say when she hits boost, the thing pulls you back and almost out of your seat. Gotta love the transbrake too :)

Buffman, it takes no real power, my friend runs 12.20 w/only 320 whp in his 5.0. It is still full weight or close to it i think. Those cars hook AWESOME with a few tweaks. Mine hooks like mad even though i stiffened everything up. It is hard to pop loose the tires without shifting or without dropping the clutch, at first i was sad (shitty tires and they hardly spin!?!?) but after I beat that LS1 and a few other fast cars, i figured it out, i just plain HOOK.

I hate it when people say that shit. I had a 88 GT, and to make anything fast costs money. Nothing cheap about it.

JB, you just went about it all wrong, no offence, but you probably built a "nice" car, not a drag car. Strip it, put a alphabet cam and a stalled C4 in it and there is your mid/high 12's right there on slicks. Do some engine work and it will scare you.

^I personally WATCHED a car built like that pull consistant 12.7/8's.

Yeah, it was not a drag car. But before I sold it I thought about putting a 347 stroker in it, but found out how much it would cost to do it. I figured I would sell it and get the car I wanted since 98.

My dad and I pretty much saved that 88 GT I had, it was a piece of junk when we bought it.

342 crate motor is only $4400 or so. Rated at 450 at the fly. You would need support mods of course, but thats not bad, should be about 385 whp. Dont know what your contention with the price was

Lol, I had a TA and sold if for the car I always wanted (5.0) To each their own, makes the world spin :)
