Default those with centerforce clutches(or not)

how do you like it?does it chatter at all?i plan on doing heads and a cam this year and maybe a supercharger next year.how does it hold up with your mods?i dont really go to the track much (5-10 times a year),but after i get more mods i plan on going all the time.so i need something that can handle the abuse.i do still have my stock rear so i dont run slicks, but i do plan on running streets untill i break the rear, then maybe i'll put axles in it.so the clutch that needs to handle semi hard launches till i can afford a 12 bolt.

if you have any other suggestions for a clutch im open to it.thanx all!

oh yea its an lt-1!

My next door neighbor has a 1970 vette with a t-56. At just under 500rwhp, he broke the springs and clutch disc on a centerforce dual friction. The replacement held up until the first time he hooked good at the track, and it smoked up so bad it would barely pull onto a trailer to tow it home. This is a mechanical linkage instead of a hydraulic, but I believe the clutch and pp are the same.

I hear the LS7 clutch is the new way to go but I have heard the cartek clutch is stronger. There are a lot of different opnions in this forum though. I have a friend who has a centerforce in his 95 LT1 and likes it but no seriouls power, just bolt ons, I have blot ons on my 2002 and I was still on the stock clutch at 30k, I got my hands on a 2004 Z06 clutch kit and installed it just for peace of mind, and Im very happy, but I dont plan on doing more with the car in terms of power any time soon and I wanted a quiet smooth clutch with a stock peddal feel thats why I stayed with GM parts

But how do you go about putting a LS7 clutch on a LT1?

I have already argued with several people on this subject. I installed my Centerforce Dual Friction 12" clutch and couldn't be happier!

Now.....when you ask if people if they like their centerforce dual friction make sure they specify which clutch they are talking about. The old design centerforce had did suck. I have heard a lot of bad things about it. BUT.....the new centerforce design has my vote!

If you have any questions shoot Will Baty a pm on here. Anything else i can help you with just send me a pm. Hope this helps!
