Default Spec 5 clutch squeal....Slowhawk others help

The new motor/turbo kit/built tranny is now in.T56 refreshed and upgraded,SFI 2.2 approved aluminum flywheel, spec stage 5 clutch.ive got between 100-150 miles on the setup now.95% of the time it only squeals when im at a complete stop and engage it to put it into 1st to get moving. Is this normal breakin for people who have used them?im praying it goes away after a couple hundred miles but would like some info from the experienced. Thanks in advance.Nick

Mine's (squeal) still here after 4000miles. It's more inthe way you engage it. Rev little higher next time and let it out quicker. Then it won't squeal. You can't drive it like a sprung clutch...has to be more aggressive.

You at the peak of the squeel. Keep driving it and it will be alot less to even not there at all. Probly 80% of the 5's we do stop squeeling at around 800 miles. The squeel is worth it for the holding power. Just ask anyone who has blown through alot of clutches.

the 1 thing i cant believe is the pedal pressure and how easy it is to engage.pedal pressure is about stock and engaging is alot easier than the spec 3 i had.ive always been a fan of spec since my stage 3 went 40000+ miles and we took it out to replace it with this spec 5 so it never even gave up.I just wanted to make sure i didnt pick the wrong clutch this time with the 5.....thanks don

Clutch torque capacity is determined by several things. Friction meterial and spring pressure are two of those things. If the Spec 5 friction material has a higher coefficient of friction than the Spec 5 then a softer spring can be used and still get a higher torque rating. In other words, your comparing apples to oranges when you only compare the pedal "feel".

my spec 3 never squealed,so when i pulled the car outta the shop u could imagine my suprise.im not sure whether the alum flywheel will make the squealing worse/better and last longer/shorter than an iron or billit wheel.

After awhile you'll get the hang of how to engage it without the squeal
