Default Stupid Question, about stock 1/4 mile times.

I have an A4 2.73, Bone stock no options Z28. I am fairly Certain I will see 14.50.
Well guy at work is going to track bet me five bucks I won't go faster than 15.0
What are you guys running with a similar A4 setup?
Thanks

if its running good, decent traction and your not to high in elevation it will go mid low 14s easy... if not faster

then take his 5 dollars

Exactly man, high 14's should be covered..... But dude all this over 5 bones Are you in Venezuala where gas is 12 cents ? You can buy a burger at the track and have that spent.

If your not at high elevation even if its your first time at the track I would guess easily low 14s. I think some of the fastest stock lt1s have been 2.73 geared cars. Also raise the bet to $20 bucks and enjoy it

We are good Friends, He is ford guy and thinks the gear will hurt me. I said even if I spin out the hole I am going 14.9999999. He just laughed, so we bet. Tthis is the first time I will have the LT1/A4 at the track, but I have had a 96Z 98Z 01Z and the Trans Am, so I have clocked some time at the track in those alot acutally.

3 years ago my best friend bought a 95 A4 2.73 no option car for a daily driver. I ran a 14.28/97 best and a handle full of 14.30's at 98 completely stock.

just tell him that the lt1s dont need gears as bad as the mustangs do... we have torque.

If this is your first time ever at the track, i say you wont run a 14.5 bone stock. Even if you have raced maybe 1 or 2 times, i still dont think so. But i hope you do good luck!

Not my first time at the track...All of my F-bodies but this one have been 6 speeds, This is my first A4. My 96 went 13.92 at 100.02 mph bone stock, My 98z went 13.32 at 107.08 bone stock, the 01 went 12.82 at 110.02 stock. The trans Am went 13.28 at 108.02 bone stock I used to have an Auto GTP that went 14.20's. I have been practicing my launch. The car has 121,000 miles on it, but it has a Brand new opti, plugs, wires and few other odds and ends in the last 200 miles. It is running very good. So I am hoping to see about 14.30 to 14.10. But for tomorrow I will settle for 14.999.

Depending on weather and altitude you should be good for mid 14's or lower... My car ran a 14.1 completely stock down to the dino oil and paper air filter... I am knocking on the doors of 12's and still have the 2.73's.

1.92 on Goodyear Eagle GS-Cs, M-6. Those times were all run at Bremerton race. They usually prep good and you usually run pretty quick there. Decent air and right at about 290 feet above sea level. I am about 15 mins from that track. If I run at Pacific Raceways, which is about an hour away, I am usually about 2 to 3 tenths slower.

the reason i ask is because last night i took my car to the track for my very first time.

Temp was about 90 and the car was running hot, have stock tires and the track we went to isnt known for its prepping lol

Ran a 14.7 with a 2.6 60 ft!

Wasnt too impressed, although it was my first ever time racing at a track. Spun like crazy, that 60 ft hurt me bad

getting that down to at least a 2.0 60' then you would be in the mid 13's easy...

my '94 auto 3.23 car ran 13.9@100.5 on a 2.2 60foot, so i think you'll be fine. The worst I EVER did in that car was 14.7 on a 2.6 60.

Yeah 2.6 60 foot and you still went 14.70? I would have been happy as hell!
I will be in then. I will be lauching right around 1500 rpm, the car leaves good there with just a little spin, anything more than that and the tires smoke away. So with 20 psi in the rears and 40 psi in the front. I should be good to go.

Thanks Mr. Bill. I am fairly confident in my LT1s ability. They are a great motor.
