Default O/R Y-pipe Questions...

Everyone with this setup what's the best way to go? I was thinking o/r y-pipe slp loudmouth (replace resonator with bullet muffler). Any other suggestions? Also...how's the clearance with this setup with a lowered car (preferably with G2's.)

Thanks a lot.

I really dont think that you will see a very big gain w/ the y-pipe. its not worth the cash for a 5 or maybe 10 hp difference. And its mainly a hp gain b/c your getting rid of your cats. i think that a few have tried the LM and replace the resonator w/ a bullet w/ some success.

ur clearance with the G2's should be fine. But as mentioned above the Y pipes for stock manifolds are kinda expensive for the 5hp they make. I'd save up for some LT headers then get a Ypipe.... that'll get ya around 20rwhp.

Oh ok. Thanks a lot guys. Well I wanted a loud exhaust system for a reasonable price. I've heard an o/r y-pipe with the loudmouth catback with a bullet muffler in place of the resonator...and thats the sound I'd like to obtain. Any other suggestions? Also, if you could list a price of the setup you suggest that'd help me out a lot.

Thanks a lot.

A guy in town here gained 17rwhp/20rwtq adding the Bassani ORY on his 02SS w/ stock dual/dual exhaust. I think he only gains about 2hp w/ cutout open.

who am i to say but 17 RWHP?? some people barely get that w/ LTs, i dont think a y-pipe would get that big of a gain. you might have heard right though, b/c hes a liar

Thats what I'm told. The car is a freak and puts up great #'s for no more than it has done to it.

Any other suggestions to achieve the same sound of an o/r y-pipe with a loudmouth catback with a gutted resonator and bullet muffler in place? Along with a price tag...

Yeah, thought about that. 2 things. 1...hard to find anyone in this area to even attempt to make that design. 2...emissions. If I had a o/r y-pipe, when emissions came around I could just bolt back on my stock y-pipe with no probs I believe.

I did in my o2,I think it was worth it dont forget the cutout. I have magnflow, but theres a big sotp's feeling with the cutout open. If you have a 00+ then do it! I mean dont get me wrong 98-99 you see some gain, but not as big

And if you have an o/r y-pipe, have you lowered your car? If so, any clearance problems?
