this is how i clay my car.

wash car real good and while its still wet with soap use the clay bar in one direction if possible. Dont drop it or its garbage. Cut it in half just in case you do drop it.

Dry and park in the shade or garage then a good idea to use a cleaner wax first. It will take any other dirt out. If you want to use a polish then a good wax over it.

Buffers work like magic and so dose the micro fiber towels are awsome.

If you have any other questions i sigined up at meguiarsonline.com and there are tons of info on that board that can help.

This is how I clay my car.
1) I wash it with Tropi-care TC-6 Premium Car wash to remove heavy dirt
2) Make a spray solution with 1/2 cap of TC-6 and 16 oz. of distilled water in a spray bottle.
3) Spray solution in a 2ft x 2ft area and gently slide clay bar across lubricates surface until it feels smooth.
4) Repeat until car is finished and rinse entire car and dry with microfiber towel.
Notes:
1) when Clay bar becomes darkened with contaminates, simply fold, pull and reshape clay bar to expose a clean surface.
2) Use on cool surfaces only
3) Do not use if clay is dropped on the ground.
4) check clay frequently for contaminates.
5) Apply Tropi-Care TC-3 Premium polish to protect.

The less contamination, the longer it last. I usually can get about 2-3 cars per clay bar.

This is how I do it.

-Wash thouroughly.. 2-3 passes with soap.
-Dry car.
-Clay small area with Meguiars Quick Detailer.
-Re wash car.. 1 pass with soap.
-Dry car.

Some say to spray your fingers and the backside of the clay to keep it from sticking to your fingers... but trust me.. having it stick to your fingers is a good thing IMO. The last thing you want is to drop the bar on the ground. If its sticking to your fingers.. that aint gonna happen. Ive also found that in my experiences using Quick Detailer works a lot better then soapy water for lubrication.
