Default Waste Gate Question

I've got the TiAL gate that comes with the STS kit. Its set for 5.8 psi but The car keeps over boosting to 7.5 psi. I've cleaned it out and checked to make sure the refrence tube from the cold side is clear and that the spring is correct. The odd thing is that when it was first installed on the car it opened at the right time at 5 psi, and almost a year later it is at 7.5 psi. I can't figure it out. Any suggestions?

The car is a 2001 SS M6 with the t-67 STS turbo.

Is your overboost sustained or a boost spike?

It seems to be sustained though I'm not meeting the fueling requirements for more then 5psi so once I see it I back off of the throttle.

The spring wont often work properly if you dont at least have the vac/boost line plumber to assist and regulate the spring.
