Re: SLP 85 maf?
I have the SLP MAF and I left the screen in. Just the larger diameter flows much more air. I left the screen in as an extra "piece of mind" just in case any debris should get that far - whatever the reason. I don't know that I would recommend leaving it in - but I'm happy with it this way. <img border="0" alt="[Burnout]" title="" src="graemlins/burnout.gif" />

Re: SLP 85 maf?
i also have the slp 85mm maf. i left the screen in for warrenty issues. i descreened the stock one, and dealers like to see a screen in there. just depends on how picky they are.

I left the screen in mine but I have an SS. I would leave the screen in if you have an SS or FTRA or similar Ram air set up. I've got a K&N filter and I've pulled a couple of bugs off my MAF screen.

I had the same problem, the weird thing is that my lid looked like it was sealed all the way. I put Automotive/marine grade weather stiping around my lid in replacement for the K&N seal(the new one is way thicker) and now I don't have that problem.
