Default Security Light

While I was driving home from work the other day the security light came on. It stayed on for two consecutive starts and then just as quickly went out. I'm wondering if VATS is on the way out. Should I disable it using HP Tuners before I'm stranded somewhere?

Is it just a simple matter of turning the VATS off? I realize the car would be more vulnerable (to theft) without it, but are there any other issues I need to be aware of? Thanks.

I checked the resistance on the key pellet using a multimeter and it was slightly higher than the resistance for that pellet code. Do you think that is what caused the security light to come on temporarily? It hasn't came on since, btw.

I don't reallly know...maybe the pellet was just dirty or had some lint on it??? Probably not the resistance value, nominal between #8 and #9 for example is quite a bit (2370 and 3010). I'd drive it and turn if off if it starts giving you problems.
