Where is my Power?
My '02 Formula with flowmaster exhaust and 3.5" tips was equaled today by a God Damn Pontiac Grand Prix GTP on a short stretch of highway (no more than a 1/2 mile).
We only got to about 115 before I had to slow down to hit my exit, but prior to that - he kept up with me and I couldn't pull away.
I know I have at least 310 horsepower stock and I know that GTP doesn't.
What the hell is going on?
Is it time for some mods (airbox lid, K&N)??
This was embarrassing.

They're the supercharged 3.8, stock not much of a problem for an LS1, but throw a few mods on them, they can be as fast if not faster.
If he had a custom paint job, odds are he was sporting a few other mods
BTW get rid of that flowmaster, they don't flow all that well in the ls1 system

a GTP with a puley swap, inatek and exhaust will run mid high 13s...for a FWD 4 door they are pretty respectable.
Get your car dynoed or bring it to the track- can't judge your cars performance based on another car with unknown mods.

You'll just have to learn that there's always a faster car out there than you. LS1's aren't the fastest things on the road you know. When your damn near stock (you said all you have is a Flowmaster; which flows probably worse than the stock muffler), you have to watch out for those FWD and AWD cars (GTP's, EVO's, STI's, etc) because they can take us stock with just minor mods. I've learned to never underestimate such cars, even 350Z's. I learned the hard way racing a modded GTP from a dig when I was stock and the result was a loss for me by 3-4 car lengths.
