Default could i port my own tb?

ok so just as the title says. could i port my own throttle body? what would i need? anything i should be careful about? just wondering if i could get your opinions on this and what to do besides jut porting it. i dont really want to pay 150 for a ported stock throttle body or god forbid 500 but a nice one. im cheap what can i say.
