I heard that an 18 inch one in the I-pipe will just about take it all away. Or what i am goanna do is put 2 12 inch ones where the cats would be. People have shown that it doesnt really tack that much power away, its worth it to me b/c i HATE rasp.

I heard SLP long tubes w/loudmouth friday night (first time I heard it with headers in person) and it kicked ***. Some say its too much rasp but we all have different deffinitions of rasp <img border="0" alt="[Burnout]" title="" src="graemlins/burnout.gif" />

i love it at wot above 4k... it sounds bad as hell, but i don't like below that, i will have a video clip of my dyno sometime after christmas. But i just want to get rid of the insane rasp, the slp long tubes you heard were probably with cats. This will eliminate alot of rasp.

I have FLP's- custom 3" Y (no cats)- Loudmouth with a 3-1/2" Borla XR-1.

I had the Loudmouth on for a few weeks before I had the chance of getting the XR-1 put in. The XR-1 took away almost all the rasp. Under about 3000rpms it's pretty damn quiet now, well more than before the XR-1. The XR-1 is well worth it. If you look through the XR-1 it's wide open with perforated holes on the walls and the "V" section going through it.
It flows nice and has a good low-end sound now. I get nothing but compliments on it from all types of gear-heads.

Peace,
Craig.

What model Borla XR-1 is it? got any pics of the install? I've been thinking the same setup but I'm worried about clearances.

I got the 3-1/2" because I was going to put a 3-1/2" cut-out before the XR-1 but there was no room with the custom y-pipe.
The 3-1/2" part # is 157-40086 from Jegs. Here is their pic (It is really round not oval):

Sorry I don't have nay pics of it, I will soon. The 3-1/2" needed some room, so Mike at MTI bashed up my floor pan a little bit. It looks fine and I have had no problems with it. I believe he said he wouldn't have to bash the floor pan if it was just a 3" XR-1 (Part# 157-40085).
Here is a link to the 3" XR-1:

Boo Yeah- It should, I don't know what the Dynomax looks like on the inside. But I've heard of a few guys using them.

Peace,
Craig.

The round Borla Race Muffler works really well at calming down the outrageous noise the LM + LT's make about 4,000 rpm. Just replace the resonator.
