Everybody is an idiot at least once
Car: 1999 Frc Vette
Incident: Racing a Z28 at about 6800 rpm I went to powershift 1-2 and missed but wasn't intelligent enough to let go of the shifter. (and had my arm into it)
Result: No second gear, but everything else works and no noises. Shift from 1-2 feels like it goes half way in and then grinds/pops out.
2 weeks later: strangely it semi-fixed itself???? 7/10 times it will shift fine WO and all. the rest of the time same pipe/out.
Question: Is it possible I only minorly damaged something like the shifter?
P.S. I already purchased a built trans from a sponsor

Messing up the shifter would be cheaper than what you'll face in that box. You prolly heat-welded the blockers on 2nd and they broke loose over time( semi fixing themselves) but it is not really ok.You did the right thing getting a freshened box as this ones days are numbered before a rebuild is mandatory.
