Default SES light doesn't come on when I start car

Why? 2001 trans am, stock pcm, lid catback ported tb. Just noticed that whenever I turn my car on to accessories or all the way over to start the light never comes on. The Service vehicle light in the middle of hte dash does however. What fuse to check and if not that should I check the bulb (how do you check the bulb for that?)

Thanks!

Could be either a bad bulb or the previous owner disconnected it to hide a problem. Hopefully it's the former.

I know for sure it used to work, just noticed recently it doesn't turn over. Is there a fuse to check first before looking at bulb?

Just for the heck of it I'd pull the AIR PUMP fuse under the hood and see what happens - won't hurt anything and should induce a SES light for P0412 on the second or third cold start.
