Default Weight lifting comp

Last Friday I attended the Monterey CA. Post Graduate Weight lifting contest. I had three attempts at the bench press.
First lift 305lbs, Second lift failed at 320lbs.., Third lift pushed 320lbs and felt easy. My goal for the next meet in December is 350lbs. I ended up third in the 220lb class. The guy who got second benched 315lbs, but weighed 206. I weighed in at 211, so he beat me on the coeficient.

Felt week when i saw a 184lb guy push 405. He dead lifted 550, squatted 575 too..

Third is good! I used to powerlift when I was in my 20's (I'm 45 now), but my problem was 1) I didn't do steroids 2) I was 5' 10" in the 165 lb class! Your 184 lb guy was probably 5' 5" right?

Good luck in future meets. I still like to push the weight around but can't do any body part more then once a week. But hey, squatting 405 for 3 sets of 5 isn't too bad at my age!

Yeah I'd say he is like 5'7. In May 05 at the same meet he weighed 161lbs. In 12 months he added 23lbs of muscle. He raised his bench from 295lbs to 405 in the same 12 months. He added just over 500 lbs to his three lift combo too. I'm not sure that is possible without some sort of steroids, but he better not be. I mean he will get kicked out of the US Coast Guard if he tests positive. Hopefully later today the lift results will be online and I'll post a link.

Yikes! I thought I used to be strong in college when I benched 275lbs for 2 reps while weighing only 153lbs.

My best 330 bench, 405 deadlift, 505 squat @ 181lbs.-22 years old
now I'm 37, don't bench anymore, 225 for 10 on incline, no more deadlift, 225 squat for sets of 10. Oh and I weigh a PRETTY 184, hehe.

My best estimation is that you must max out at 410 on the flat bench. That's if you do 315 for 10.. How far off am I?

a deadlift of 405x10 and some more weight is my two year goal

a 275x10 bench would be out of this world to me

not everyone responds like that, with a good cycle he could be doing 315 for 6 or so after a cycle. Easy 50lb on his max, but then again he could end up zitty, watery, and misrable. Depends on each person and there diet

505 for 10 was goal on the dead but managed 12 when i was 25...I failed on my 605 attempt for some reason, never tried again. I may get back at it hard again an go for it one more time.

Right now I'm doing 275 x 6.. Got some more work to do, I need like 275 x 9 to reach my new goal of 350 on the bench.
