Thumbs up QTP/Y-pipe/Cutouts

I will be getting a set of QTP long tube headers soon and was wondering what type/brand of y pipe everyone is using. I also plan on running two electronic cutouts with this setup.

My questions are: where is the best place to put the cutouts? Logically it seems that before the cats would be the best but can someone confirm, is it preference?

Will an after market y pipe allow cutouts to be placed in a desired location (i.e.: front or back of cats) or would it be limited due to factory design of the y pipe? Would I be better off having one custom built?

Thank you!

Dual cutouts have been proven to make less hp over a single cutout. From what I have been reading there is not going to be much room before the cats if any for two cutouts...

I have studied it over and over under my car... I even bought 2 cut outs and hacked them to nothing but where it turns down into the tube... is NOT! possible to fit them in front of the cats.... hardly possible to get 1 on AFTER the Y with my LM

lol this is funny...

you're buying QTP headers...and wanna know what y pipe to get and are interested in running 2 electric cutouts...i have no idea why no one mentioned this but...

QTP has the ONLY y pipe available that comes with 2 electric cutouts welded into it. you wanna know what y pipe to get? get the QTP one! not only is it made for your headers, it comes with the cutouts already! this is an easy one guys

my mistake. you're better off just buying the QTP catted Y and a single cutout in the I pipe then. it's a cheaper setup and the Y is made for your headers, plus with only a single electric cutout, there's one less thing to go wrong as i can almost guarantee after a year or two at least ONE cutout will go bad if you go for a dual cutout setup.
