I am having lots of trouble with the transmission cooler lines where they connect to the transmission. The OEM fitting were worn and loose. I want a better connection for the track. I am installing compression fittings on the tubing going from the tranny to the B&M cooler and back. I can't find a fitting anywhere that will connect up to the tranny housing that will not leak. Has anyone got any ideas? I am open for anything. Just want something that WILL NOT LEAK. Tranny fluid and slicks don't mix to well............Thanks !!

It's 5/16" inverted flare that screws into the brass fittings that are on the transmission.

Can you pull the fittings and add like a -6 AN fitting? My TH400 came with the -6's so I'm just gonna build steel braided lines to the cooler and back. May not be economical but shouldn't leak and will be pretty strong..

Yes, I can pull the fittings easily. Do any o-rings go in there with the an fitting? Can these fittings be bought locally or do they have to be ordered somewhere?

I also had someone tell me it is best to mount the tranny cooler behind the rear axle so that if a leak started, the fluid would miss the slicks.....any opinions on this one???

You don't need O-rings, should be an NPT fitting. I use a -6 AN male to 1/2" NPT male.

For a race car, that may be a good idea for the rear mount cooler. For a DD/strip car, I would put it in front of the radiator. It gets more air there and when your fans come on from sitting in traffic, it will pull air through your cooler as well as the radiator. Just make sure you don't have any leaks.
