i heard somewhere of someone modifying a pair of big block headers to fit an ls1? can anyone instruct me on this or point me in the right direction?? my application is a 1956 chevy with 605 power steering box. will the stock exhaust manifolds clear the 605?

thanks,
shad

You should be able to cut off the flanges and weld on the LS1 exhaust flange with some minor tweaking to the tubes to fit the LS1 flanges. You may have to splice in a short section (couple of inches) on a few of the tubes to make it work. Good luck!

I used Patriot Clipsters, for a big block on my car. One tube was in the correct location. Like John said, you will have to do some fabrication on the other three tubes for each side. It's a lot easier than building a set of headers from scratch.
