It seems that after spending some time on this forum I want to try cramming an ls1 into just about everything now. Random cars I see on the road, in magazines, tv etc. Its kind of addicting I guess.

Yeah, trying to get my brother to put a LS1 into his recently purchased 3 Series... doesnt seem to like that idea too much, nor would inspection here.

I'm the same way! I'm doing a Chevelle right now. I would also love to do a dragster, boat, integra, vega/monza, and others...

I'm not even half way through my s10 swap and I've had to talk myself out of buying a couple of vehicles.I've even ordered double of a couple of brackets and things because I know I will be doing it again :)

I wonder an ls1 would fit in an ATV, or maybe a Jetski. That would be one fast PWC, lol. But, it would a LOT be fun.

I'd like to put one in a Z roadster BMW (M model of course) and call it a Z350.

I have been saving the 350/T350 I pulled out of my Studeabker thinking I would put it into something else, but now it seems I have little interest in doing that! I keep thinking of looking for a 50s or 60s truck to put a 5.3 or 6.0 into. Then I could sell my 01 Silverado!

Same here I want to put it in a ford ranger just to piss off the ford guys, cause they are really cheap. A guy once offered me one for free an 89 it was in good condition exept the motor was bad.

in my case it got so bad that every time some one talks about a car , my friends look at me and say "why don't you put an ls1 in it?"

so far i've convinced my self that my next project will be stuffing an ls1 into one of the following:

hyundai tiburon
porsche 911
my 78 international harvester scout II
one of those small suzuki vans
a vey old toyota mini pickup truck
nissan sylvia
3 series bmw
a frame rail with a diff welded to it
hyundai accent
my old 95 dodge ram
grand cherokee

now i just have to figure out what order i should start these projcts.
my grand scheme is to have an assembly line for putting ls1's into anything .... muahahahahah

ok i think i said too much....:D

wow....that is alot of swaps in one year.

I know that the LS1 is a great engine but I wonder why it has become such a popular candidate to swap into other cars. The gen 1 and Lt1 small blocks have been swapped into cars but not as much as the ls1. hell..you don't even see that many new hemis or viper v10s swapped into older cars.

can't wait to finish my swap and see what the LS1 fuss is all about.

I have always thought about swapping a ls1/t56 into a 98-03 grand prix and making it rear wheel drive.I prolly will never do it but I love this cars and would be nice to have one with a v8, manual trans and rwd

i guess its because its kinda well packaged and easy to wire up, plus the fact that its lighter than most other engines and that you're only a cam swap away from 400 rwhp sorta helps.

man , an '05 mustang with an ls1 ! now that would piss alot of people off.... i love it! (pencils in '05 mustang to the list) :D

Well Hemis and Viper V10s are not only expensive, but at one time getting a hold of a (Viper) V10 was hard (as in crate motor production stopped).

well, the iron blocks are a little heavier, its not anything another 100 rwhp
cant fix :D

also, i think the salvage yard guys are onto me :secret2:
im only there like every weekend
i think they finally figured out what the "VORTEC" motors are derived from

theres this one know it all dude at one the yards i buy from, who has told me that the 6.0 did not interchange with any of the other GM engines because its a vortec and that it is the new "real" vortec like the 90's one and that he has adapted the new heads to his old 96 silverado :jest:
and the 5.3/4.8 engines are junk because he has been told by his engine builder that they are not worth building up :jest:
also this jackass told me that the LS1 was a "throw away" engine and that i should build a real motor and not waste my time with it.
i went with the flow and the guy selling it knocked off $500 from the price because he thought he was ripping me off.
it came from a 01 T/A with the LS6 intake and i pulled it from the car
i got the engine from them for $500 with harness
thanks to know it all jackass :jest:
thought i should share :chug:
