Who said you can't change plugs from theTOP?
A freind and I tackled my plug change today. The stock plugs had about 60K miles on them and they needed changing so I swapped them for some TR6's.
I tackled the driver's side easily in about 30 minutes. But I knew I couldn't get CLOSE to tackling the passenger side after trying 20 minutes just to get my hand down in ther to get the plug wire off(which was UNBELEIVABLY hard on ALL the plug wires) so I called up a buddy that is a pretty small fella so he had small hands. I think it took us about and hour and a half or so to do the passenger side. We did them all from the top and did not even have to jack the car up. But the catch is we DID get uder the car BUT no wrenches were turned or turnable from the bottom. He got under the car to position the ratchet for me. It wasn't too bad though.

The more you change them the faster you get Takes me 30 minutes to change all the plugs from the top

Yeah, it's hype.
I did my first change in 45 min.
I was expecting to have to get under the car, remove coil packs, ect... all this crap folks say "has" to be done.
I removed spark plug wires, an EGR tube, and plugs. That's it. Done from the top with my big ham hands. My 78 Monza with a 350 was way harder. My Maverick with a 351C, well I don't even want to talk about that one!

i changed mine today too, the wires too. i take the AIR system apart though and push it aside, and i find it's easier to do if you unbolt and unplug the coil packs on the passenger side and move them out of the way, just how i do it.

I must be an idiot then. I just did mine last weekend. The driver's side was a piece of cake. The passenger side was a different story. I got plug #'s 2 and 4 done easily. I had to take the coil pack rail off to get the rest since I have big hands and big arms. The biggest PITA was the coil rail bolt by the #8 plug. It took me an hour to get off. I threw that bad boy in the garbage. It was extremely difficult getting the plug wires off #6 and #8. They were on tight. I had to break the #8 plug loose from the bottom. I pulled it out from the top though. All in all, it took about 4 hours. Yeesh, talk about a rookie. Next time I'll do much better.

I took her down the road tonight for the first time since the new plugs and it SEEMED to pull a good bit better. I am gunna take it to the race track sunday and see what she does. I'de like to spray it but I don't guess my damn nitrous line is ever gunna come in.

Though, I didn't think it was hard w/ stock manifolds either. All from the top on under an hour the first time. About 30 minutes the next. Didn't waste time removing the coil packs.
