Default HELP!!!!! 94 formula is being dumb.

OK so i go out today. and start her up. Take her into the garage and pop the hood. I hook the fuel pressure tester up and it read about 45-46 with out pushing the button. Then when I push the button it reads between 50 and 60 and then rises up to 60. I figure ok looks good right?

Then I pull the air intake off and Pull out the thermostat because it is getting hot and i thought that was the cause of my first problem. Anyways i get that done being sure to catch the fluid and all. It starts fine. I let it run while I close the garage and it is fine. I back up and put it in drive and BLEH it dies.

Now it cranks over and over and over and no fire. It will fire however every now and then. So i let it sit and it starts back up. I rev it a few times and get the same "bogging" sound as yesterday except this time it is in park and no noise from anywhere. Then it dies. I am like WTF!!!! So I go under the hood push on the schrader valve and it leaks gas out not SPRAYS it out just leaks it out. But I remember fred saying something about it should slowly bleed off the fuel pressure after it turns off.

ANy help would be appreciated.

you probably cranked it way to much. Can you hear the pump prime when you turn the key?

You should start checking for spark, do you have spark at the plugs? Coil?

Nope can't hear it at all. I did crank it a lot . Please tell me it is something other than the pump.

hey check the opti-spark, but it now sounds like the pump. both those things might be the problem too... i never did like the idea of opti-spark.

be carefull to because it it wasnt the pump and you cranked it over ALOT then you could wash the cylinder walls with gas and be in a world of trouble when it actually fires up.

good luck man
