Default 160 thermostat what should....

what should the operating temp be on the car. I've had it tuned with LS1 Edit but I think the shop did not set the fans correctly. The car runs around 200 degrees. Is this the correct temp for a 160 thermo?

Forget what your gage tells you. Check it with a diagnostic scanner like Autotap if you really want to know.

Mine runs 176-185 (176-178 when cruising). My first fan is set to come on at 185 and go off at 178. The second fan is set to come on at 190 and go off at 180. This is read by Autotap. The gage, as always, reads about 205 at all times. It'll read about the same no matter if you're running 175 or 225. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Roll Eyes]" src="images/icons/rolleyes.gif" />

BTW, a thread in ONE forum is enough so I'm locking this one.

My 2002 WS6 has a 180 and the gauge always reads 210. I heard the factory did this because they thought people would get worried if they saw the temp move up and down. So unless your running cold or very hot the gauge will not change.
