Never drop the transmission without the torque converter. Try lifting the front of the engine.

well it came out w/ the converter. the conv to flywheel bolts were torqued waaaaay too tight from the last dumbass owner. 44ft/lbs shouldnt have me lifting my whole body in the air when im losening the bolts.

You'd be surprised. I broke a damn hardened allen wrench breaking the last bolt loose. You forget, it's only 44 ft/lbs, but that sumbitch is loctited to hell and back! GM was stupid for not using a regular hex-head bolt from the factory.

yeah never remove a tranny without the converter

i agree with him that youd be surprised as in how tight the bolts can get or seem to get after a period of time heating up and cooling down.

good luck.

i bed fred flinstonin it will give you at least 5 more HP and if not it would look funny as hell....
