Default should i get asp underdrive pully with my heads and cam

should i get a underdrive pully with for my head and cam car. From what i have heard many people see no difference in power.

How about dampening effect. Would the asp be better for the engine?

This is a controversial topic. From what I have seen, many people have seen 5-10 hp increases. However, I have heard that the aftermarket pullies can cause catastrophic damage in the long run. It has to do with engine harmonics.

When I installed my ASP pulley, I picked up 12 rwhp. I noticed a big difference in how the car accelerates and revs. Not sure on the long term damaged since it doesn't dampen as well as the stock one. Its worth it to me for the power increase.

I recently telephoned ASP and asked the person who answered how their pulley compared to the stock balancer. I was told that it is equivalent below 6000 rpm and that they have not tested it beyond 6000 rpm. The 10% underdrive ATI pulley is reportedly used by Winston Cup racers at very high engine speeds. The ATI unfortunately, is quite expensive.
