Red face Which car to have the advatage @ the 1/4? mile?

1) '99 T/A M6. Macs+cats, 3:73's, 10bolt on 16" drag radials, new ls6 clutch, mild ported ls1 heads with stealth II cam, pro-kit springs with BMR phr & relos.

407 rwhp w/ 80k+ miles.

2) '02 SS M6. Kooks+cats, 3:42's, 10bolt on 18" street tires, F13 cam. Hotchkis springs on otherwise stock suspension.

405 rwhp w/ 17K+ miles.

Similar power, but I would say #1 mainly because of the lighter wheels (assumming they're street cars with little/no weight reduction).

Then again peak hp numbers don't tell you a whole lot, if #2 has nicer hp/tq curves it could still win. Run 'em and let us know .

The T/A was weighed a few months ago, but I forgot what it was. I'll find out tomorrow and post it. Neither car has had any sort of weight reduction done.

I was just thinking street tires VS drag radials alone would make the difference.
In all honesty, the driver is everything. I've seen 600+ HP cars run in the 12's

Depending on weight and power curves, #1 with better gear, lighter wheels and drag radials.
