Default Mod Time Soon!

Ok. Starting stock. 94 Z28 Auto. Have a couple grand total to slowly spill into it. First off will be SLP LM Cat Back, and then 4:10s . But after that, as far as bolt ons are concerned, is there anything in this list that is a waste of money or has insignificant gains? CAI...MAF...TB...AirFoil...Elbow...Pulleys...Heade rs...ORY...T-Stat Any suggestions? Also....by this point will I be lucky enough to "need" drag radials?

TB, airfoil, MAF, and pulleys probably have the most insignificant gains out of the list. For an Auto your best bet is LT's, ORY, catback, stall, gears, and then you will be lucky enough to "need" drag radials.

I would get a Cutout instead of the C/B. Then get a CAI and nice street/strip stall and gears. You will want DRs!!!

Then you can see were to go from there with the rest of your cash money.

3.73's or 4.10' s Guys? I just read a thread where someone thought they went too far with 4.10's and their 1/4 didnt even get better. I would hope its due to a poor 60' from traction. My car is an A4 and M-F its only a 5 mile a day car. So Im not concerned with highway time. Should I go with the 4.10's and a Stall, or 3.73's and a stall? Is less, more in this case? What size stall would be best with what gear? I like to cruise so I dont wanna burn it up, but I wanna be nailed to the seat when I drop the hammer as well.

Sounds like that combo would be just right. 3200 seems high. Doesnt act too badly in normal driving? I assume the stall is irrelevent by overdrive anyway right?

Its loose yes. Loose as in you have to give a little more throttle(not a lot) to get it going. But when you slam it............mmmm tasty it kicks right in. You can have your converter lock up at a certian MPH so that your not cranking 3500 at 25mph.

IE most people lock up at 35 so they can Drive through town and not have the stall acting up.

Whats the best way to tune for gear size, tire size, and to set converter lockup? Do I send away the ECM or handheld tuners will work?

I picked up .6 with stall, and a switch from 2.73 to 3.42, and never made a real good pass where it dead hooked and shifted into 2nd. Might have picked up more then .6

hand held will do all that except lock up speed(I think) but IMO they are overpriced, you can get a mail order tune for alot less..
