Default Who has run a short belt on an ASP pulley???

I think I want to run a short belt to see if I gain anything once I eventually get a ASP pulley. What is the size that I need or the short belt? Any help is greatly appreciated. Also, is the part number for the regular belt for an ASP pulley K060760? Thanks again. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

I ran a 522K6 short belt with an ASP crank pulley and alternator pulley. I'm not sure what size belt you'd use w/just the crank pulley...

I've got one ... but I don't remember what size ... not trying to be an ***, but I found the size doing a search here and on LS1 ... can't remember which site I found it on.

Good Luck

Gates=K-060512
You will need to remove a bolt from the alternator bracket or it will rub. I got a 4 RWHP gain.

Is this short belt mod OK? I mean, will it harm anything? Obviously GM put it there for a reason like belt tensioning or balancing, but are you guys running okay with out the idler pulley? How long have you been without it?

Thanks for all of the help. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" /> Now, I just wish my pulley was here. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

Oh, by the way, what is the part # for the belt when I want to go back to having power steering. I only plan to use the "short belt mod" at the track. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

On my '99 M6 SS car, shortbelt mod w/ASP pulley was worth .2--.1 for pulley, .1 for shortbelt. My '02 A4 SS car: .1 total.--.05 for pulley, .05 for shortbelt. For what it's worth.....as you know, every car responds differently. Best wishes. WJ. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

It is 510K6 for the Spring field belt. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" /> That is what I use and it works great. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
