Track times and horsepower
Last night was only my 2nd time at the track and I feel like I should be getting better times. I have a 99 firehawk with no mods yet. The first time I ran a 9.31 at 82mph, .688 reaction, 2.3 60ft. My 2nd run I ran a 9.28 at 81mph, .315 reaction, 2.2 60ft. Does that sound about right for a firehawk or should I be getting better numbers? Before I bought the car my aunt had to replace 2 broke pushrods and 2 bent ones because of her step son. Would I need a tune because of them replacing the rods.

Times seem off to me. You should atleast be seeing an 8.9-9.0 sec. 1/8th mile time with that 60' time (Which isn't good, no offense). Something's off power wise, but you should check for the specifics on your track (Elevation, what the density altitude was that day, etc..).

I have a couple of rookie questions. When i went to the track last week I had just filled up on gas, I know it's not much but does having a full tank hurt your time? I also was wondering if anyone launches in 2nd gear instead of 1st?

each gallon of gas is about 6-6.5 lbs. So a tank holding 15 gallons gives you an idea of how much can be left on the table. I usually run with 1/4 to 1/2 tank.

Same here, I will usually fill my tank 3-4 days before track time so i'll be below 1/2. Not sure exactly how much it hurts to have a full tank, but it isn't helping any. Get that 60ft down and you'll see better numbers, at least mid 8's.
