Default oil pressure rises with rpms

So I just got my tsp rumbler with a loud mouth resonator installed today and I noticed that when I would rev the engine or accelerate quickly, the oil pressure gauge would go up with the rpm's. I have never noticed this before, what could be causing this?

it's normal. oil pump displaces more as it speeds up with the engine speed. as long as it isn't bouncing around erratically or dropping, you're ok.

just make sure it doesnt drop down to far....alot of guys on here say that 10psi for 1000 rpms is fine.....thats actually the fail rate....as in thats the lowest the pump will function...sooo if ur oil psi is just bouncing in a good range dont worry about it

your oil pressure is supposed to build with rpms. the oil pump is attached to the cam shaft so the higher it spins the higher the pressure should get. by the way anything above 6 psi hot idle is ok.

sorry to hijack i just have one quick question about this. i have noticed in the past 2 months or so (since it has warmed up) that when i come to a stop my oil gauge sometimes bounces between 20-30 psi but then we i start to drive again it goes up to the 40 psi range and basically stays there until i come to a stop again. From what i have read i guess it isn't bad, but is that normal or safe? Thanks
Kevin

the oil is heating up more and its losing its viscosity, its easier for the pump to move it around...think of syrup and water....

Is higher PSI better? Because mine is damn near 60psi at idle. When I really get on it it's around 80!

I think thats a little high, what viscosity oil are you using? More than likely, you may be using oil that is a little too thick for the weather. Try a little thinner next time. Or, quite unlikely, as a worst case scenario you have a blocked oil passage.
