Default Since the FTRA is made of stainless steel...does it have the heat soak issue?

Trying do decide whether I want to buy the FTRA or the Super Sucker. Let me know, thanks guys. Oh and does the MAF ends have that issue too? Cause I wanna get them powdercoated and that process cant be done to plastic. Ive got the Granatelli and the ends are indeed plastic, so I wont be able to do it. So therefore, Im gonna have to get metal ones. Thanks By the way, if anyone has one that wants to get rid of it, then let me know cause Ill buy it.

The FTRA is outside the radiator and the
only heat to soak in is pretty low grade
(going to be less than the radiator temp,
because there will be convection, too).
Not like sitting in the engine compartment
with a blocked-off ceiling and some red-hot
headers.

With a thin-wall piece like that, and a
large airflow cross-section, I say "heat
soak" means doodly-squat in this case.

I read a post where the owner of Nashville Speed and Performance tested the ftra vs. Supersucker. With Autotap the air inlet temp(AIT) of the Supersucker was consistently 4-5 degrees cooler than the ftra.
The MAF ends shouldn't have a problem with heat soak

If you're worried about heatsoak from a thin piece of metal that's constanstly in contact with fast moving fresh air, you're REALLY splitting hairs here!

If you're not worried about ever pulling up to far and hitting a curb with the lower air dam (I do it practically everyday) then perhaps try the Super Sucker. I you want something that has been WELL proven and serves no danger from hitting curbs or other objects, get the FTRA.

MAF ends? The air is moving through there at about 300 MPH. It's not there long enough to absorb any measurable amount of heat from the MAF sensor.

Sorry, no proof, just logic.
