Default LS6 Manifold Question.....

Just got mine, and since i will not be doing before and after dynos i am curious. Will it be a peak power gain, or will it be a across the board gain?? Also will it be primarily low or high end i will see the gain.

Any loss of torque?

I would say you should gain about 10hp or so.Sense you have headers it should give you a few more hp over the norm.I believe it will be more topend oriented.

its a great buy if you have a heads/cam car.
on a stock car..10 hp sounds about right.
h/c..prob more like 20-25 rwhp.

I just bought one as well and I was wondering what do you do with the electrical connection that goes to the EGR stuff if you remove the hose?? Do you just tie it up somewhere or what?? Also since you remove the green clips holding the knock sensors down do you retape them or just let them hang free?? And what exactly does the EGR (i know it stands for exhaust gas recirculator) do??? I am about to get QTP headers with the electric cutouts and ORP so I can't run the EGR even if I wanted to and the manifold doesn't have provisions for an EGR either.

I installed the upgraded intake on my 2000 camaro. It felt like it made more power everywhere. Didnt hurt low end torque at all.

For the installation, you will need an egr block off plate. Id recommend eliminating the air tubes as well. Cleans up the engine bay and saves some weight. If you do this you will need a pair block off plates for the air connections. It will set off the SES light but wont affect power or gas mileage.

The install was difficult for me. Knowing what I know now, it would be a piece of cake. The important thing is to know about the oil pressure sender unit that screws into the back of the engine. The brake booster hose routes behind it to the intake. If you pull the intake forward before disconnecting this you will break the oil pressure sending unit. It costs $40 dollars and usually takes a week to get.

Bottomline is dont expect much with the stock cam.

I have LS1 Edit, what do I have to do in order to not throw a code??? Also, what kind of gains will I see with a cam now??? What I mean is if I would have seen a 30hp with stock manifold, what about with the LS6, 40hp????
