Default SES light and fans on high, runs fine?

I drove my 94 formula all day today, no problems, and tonight after it sat for a few hours I drove it around the block before putting it in the garage. Right when I turned onto my street the SES light came on, and the fans are running on high. The car runs fine, and it was only at 170 degrees or so, so the fans shouldn't have been on. I parked it, and restarted it, the light stayed off. Any ideas what it could be? The car is 100% stock, and has 114K on it. I checked the air pump fuse, its fine. I need to go to autozone tomorrow and have it scanned, but will it show the code with the light not on?

Stupid cars.........

Still no ses light like last night. Gotta find a scan tool to pull codes. I did put a bottle of fuel injector cleaner concentrate in this tank, wonder if it messed up the o2 sensor? Damn I wish I had a scan tool! What could be intermittent like this? I'm thinking o2, or maybe a coolant sensor. No blown fuses, runs fine.

I just had the exact same thing happen to my 1994 Camaro, mine however happened to be the AIR pump fuse had blown. Maybe double check yours?

The fans are on because the SES light is on. Have the codes run. The code should still be stored.

Turn off your aftermarket fan switch.
