Default What results should I see {longtubes}?

I am curious what your think I will gain? My car has run a best of 103 mph and I am putting 1 3/4 longtubes with off-road y-pipe. Do you think 106/107 mph is a to high a goal?

I gained 4 mph with the stock I-pipe and the SES light on..

after the tune and new i pipe i fully expect 6 mph from the swap + tune.

I also lost 100 pounds out of the car and my brakes not longer drag{ls1 conversion}. So 107 not unreasonable?

i trapped 102 two nights ago, up from 98 cai/muffler. I was also hitting 2.4 60 foots. SES light is on from EGR no longer functioning.

I'm not powershifting either. I would easily get a higher MPH if I did, but I'm iffy on my clutch. raceweight 3800 lbs

cant wait for the tune/i-pipe and a new clutch. This bitch will see 12s on a tire if its the last thing i do

LT headers was seriously a GREAT mod. It just overall made the car much faster and sound much better. I have pacesetter LTs with ory

she's runnin very healthy. I surprised my friend with an 02 T/A M6 (lid and something else). We went from a 2nd gear roll at 55 and I kept very close. I think we ended with me 3 lengths back at 125ish. No powershifting, ses light blah blah he had ran a 13.2@107 iirc, but could only manage to trap a 105 that night.

Default First race with LT'S {lt1vsls1}

Last night ME and my girlfriend were coming back from Dave&Busters when a BLACK LS1 camaro rolled up on us and the two guys just looked over and drove by. It had a borla out back and was pretty loud{no cats}. I was floored my car has nocats and a cutout and they just blew me off. So I rolled back up on the guy at about 70 in 3rd. I got to about his back tire and he downshifted putting the gas in the floor. I just plugged it and holy shXt I pulled him threw 3rd and when both shifted to 4th and I got off his car but about a 1 full car. I had to exit and he followed me off onto the excess road. "what does that car have done to it?" I have see this guy before and the track when I ran my 13.7/103 it was agianst him. He ran a 13.30/108 against me. I told him "cold air,cutout ,lt's,no cat" and was like "whatever". "i SWEAR TO GOD" I downshifted into 1st and rolled up to 40 mph and once agian he was at his back tire { my drivers door level with} he downshift into and hit it. Right of the hit I leveled out with him and threw 2nd I started pulling putting him at my back tire {which for me is weird because my car is not strong in first or second but 3rd and 4th anyway} when shifted to 3rd almost the same time and I jumped foward a full lenght and was pulling away. We both lifted at the top of 3rd and he drove up a on ramp giving me the peace sign. Goood night need track times!!!!!!

I wish someone could do a good comparison of L/T's and shorties.

There is really not a comparison between shorties and longtubes.

Shorties are less expensive and convenient. They fit easy will little to know hassle. You keep alot of that low end torque feeling. The down side is they don't give a big power gain. Most dyno's that I has seen they are a 7/10 rwhp and 1 to 2mph gain.

Longtubes cost more and require more time and afford to install. Your peak torque is raised alittle higher so you feel you have lost low end but not usually the case. You gain nice mid range and top end. Most dyno numbers are 20/25 rwhp and 4/6 mph depending on the car. If your are trying to make big number or build a fast car LT's are the only way to go use less you are running a turbo in which they headers or turbo manifolds are shorties.

well until back to backs are posted Ill remain nutrual. I know on 4.6's theyre worthless but one thing Ive noticed pertaining Camaro tech is one day something is the best and flows the greatest etc then the next day it's opposite.
