Default Good DD on an A4: 224/230 114?

All my mods are in my sig, right now I have the GT 2-3 since it was my first cam swap and as you all probably would have guessed the cam is not big enough.

Some buddies of mine who have run the XER 224/230 are suggesting that I get it since I have already purchased a 3500 stall (2.0str). My concerns are that I daily drive this car and most of the week I only drive 10-15 miles to and from work.

Will the 224/230 114 be a good daily driver with tunning? Jeff Creech does my work so I have no issues ensuring that a good tune will be provided.

Here is the cam: http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku

BTW I am running 7.4 Hardened pushrods and 918 springs with my heads that are Ported, Polished, and Coated flowing 300cfm at .550.

I do not want to have to upgrade pushrods and springs already, so I am assuming that this cam will work with my setup.

I am in the exact situation as you having just swapped out to 918 springs as replacement springs (for insurance) on m stock blown LS6 motor. Now i am upgrading to the same type of cam your looking at for my future forged LS6 blower motor and hate to swap out to double springs but i have no choice as i can't take any chances on my blown motor not to have extra precaution of the spring to hold up the valve if it breaks.

That being said, as long as you stay N/A and you lift is under .600 you shoud be good to go as the 918 spring is an awesome single spring. What lift are you looking at and good luck and that cam on a 114 should make a good DD with a pro tune that you will be getting from J.C.!
