LT1 block
hey i found this for sale but he says this what exactly does this mean its a 4bolt main LT1 out of a 92 vette but what does this mean "4-Bolt 350 Block (only the center 3 caps are 4-bolt)"

From 1992-1996 Corvettes used LT1/LT4 engines with four bolt mains. The center main bearing caps are secured by two bolts per side (4 bolts per cap) vice the one bolt per side (2 bolts per cap) on most LT. This is supposed to be stronger set up than normal two bolt engines; however, I have seen two bolt main engines survive all kinds of abuse.

yeah 4 bolt main motors have only the three center caps held on with 4 bolts. The front cap is still 2 bolts, and the back cap which holds your oil pump mount and thrust bearing is 2 bolts....
4 bolt blocks are stronger.... more sturdy due to better holding power on the crank...

ok thanks for the input guys i knew the 4 bolt is stronger so i have been looking for one to build (i just didnt really know exacty what it meant never looked into it real deep) for boost which i could just get mine splayed to it but i would rather start out with a 4-bolt block.... gonna have to look at picking it up cause they only want like 750$ for it last time i checked
