Most don't take the time to gut cats. For the time involved, it would be better if you ran an off road Y pipe off the stock manifolds until you decide to get longtube headers in the future.

I'm goign to have to agree with matt. The other thing you're going to have to watch is how many miles are on the car. Out of all the cars i've done headers on, there's only one that i didnt break any of the bolts/studs on. You could always get some Pacesetter headers/ory for around $500ish and put those on too. I might beable to help you out with the hands on experience with them...

If your mind is truly set on gutting your CATS, I would recommend some sort of pick/ Flat-head screw driver, and a ballpeen (sp?) hammer... bang the sh*t out of it and shake out whats left.

Look in your future though and invest in some headers and an offroad Y pipe

Are you looking to gut them so it looks like you have cats? I remember a few people that would remove the cat and cut it in half. Then tac weld it around the exhaust pipe so it look like they have cats, but they don't.

Let us know when you are ready to buy. We can get almost all brands of headers & ORYs as well as do custom exhaust setups from the collectors back.

gutted cats will actually cause more turbulence then doing good for my hp.

but if you do gut them, get a pointed punch, and a hammer and pound away!!
