Default y-pipe versus true dual sound?

anybody here besides me prefer the LT ORP and loud muffler sound over true duals? somebody recently posted some sound clips of the typical true dual setup (x-pipe bullets and dumps) versus flp's no cats and a wide open borla and ive got to say the borla and flp's killed the true duals IMO. the true duals sounded a bit bassier but the borla sounded raw thats how i like it im not sure what rasp is but i guess im one of the ones who likes it? it just gets boring when youre at the track and all the cars sound the same, stupid flowmasters ya know? everyone wants their car to "sound like a mustang" dont get me wrong mustangs sound great but i love the way my borla sounds and i cant wait to get my flp's on. i like it because its different. plus im young and im not really into the old muscle car thing so flowmasters do nothing for me really. sorry for the rant just wanted to know how my fellow f-body owners feel since we got jipped for duals from gm

I guess your talking about my video comparing the 2. The Borla does have a destinct sound to it and I can see why you like it, it sounds good. The duals are just something different. And for people going for all out power on the street there is now better exhaust.

You are not the only one who thinks that. Truthfully I like borla and ory better than true duals. It just has a better sound to me, of course with a bullet muffler in the i-pipe so I get no rasp. Jsears nice car! Why do you have two different wheels?

It really just depends on the person.I am not really going to say true duals over a ypipe back exhaust because I have listened to some true duals that I didn't like.It all depends on the mufflers on the true duals to me.

It just all depends upon the exact exhaust set-up being used. I personally like the "unique" sound of the Borla on a car with CATS and stock internals. Without cats it sounds like major A$$ to me(waaaaaaay too raspy). Almost like rice at certain rpms. And it sounds like it is popping popcorn or something with an aftermarket cam. Someone else on this board said that the Borla makes our motor's sound "thin" and I agree with him. Same thing goes for the LT1 motor with this exhaust.

Single or dual, I just like an exhaust that sounds bassy yet refined(loud or not).

I am partial to the y-pipe with a bullet muffler on the intermediate pipe and a turndown in front of the rear end. Sounds good, weighs less than true dual, and makes good power. What more can you ask for

The bullets are fine.I use to run a set of 12" bullets.
