Cooling system questions...
I was thinking today of ways to get my car to run cooler when a thought came to me. I remember once in my stang we removed the thermostat and placed a washer in it's place. Car ran really cool to cool, took forever to warm up though. I want to run this setup for my camaro but before I do it I want to make sure it's worth it. I know itll take longer to warm up but what are some other side effects? Note I live in area with really high humidity and days that feel like it's a 110F.
Also, I just installed my Caspers fan control switch (wonderfull piece BTW) and I want to keep the high fan on all the time even during cold starts. What would the side effects be to that?

how about a cooler thermostat and computer tune? My car used to run about 210*. I got a 160* thermostat and got the fans tuned to come on sooner and now it runs about 170*. Seems obvious but worked really well for me.

These might help you:

Like Ryan34 did, I have a SLP 160 theromstat and had PCM for less turn on my fans sooner. Along with the 55GPM electric pump, I've yet to pass 160 degrees even in heavy traffic.

Well! I hope you're tall, blond, eyes like windex, real quiet, have ***** and other bumps and curves I dont.....NEVER MIND!!
Back to another waste of money...
I'm not using these plates but they're common at the track. Every engine/cooling system is different, it'll take some trial and error to see which is best for your needs.

Well with my high compression, and crappy fuel, and out of this world heat this may be my only hope. I'll give it a shot and go from there. Thanks again. Now I just need to find a place to order them from.
