Best Headers
HEADERS! Knowing that members of LS1Tech only run the best equipment, i was wondering what you run for headers. What are the gains, ease of installation, cost... I am going to be doing more work to my car but Im starting here. Let me know what you run and how happy you are. I am thinking about the SLP long tubes, any comments. Thanks.

Re: Best Headers
I'm ordering the QTP headers with the y-pipe and the electric cutouts. I have read alot of posts and I have seen the least complaints with these headers even though i know that GM Q&A isnt the best! These headers are pricey!!! But I think i'm going to get my moneys worth. just my .02

Re: Best Headers
I'm currently running FLP headers...
Through ORP's, then through the SLP dual-dual...
Sounds great..
I would go with SLP's, QTP's or FLP's..

Re: Best Headers
Welcome to the board! I cant speak from experiance because I dont even have headers yet but from researching on this board the Hooker long tubes seem to be the popular choice. And I think they are around $600 or so w/out y-pipe so they'll leave ya with some more loot!

Re: Best Headers
Grots are the best. I have the 1.875" and they are sweet looking; but I want to switch back to 1.75" headers. They went out of business and now the Grot design is marketed by several sponsors.
I just ordered 1.75" PPC headers as they look identical to the grot design and the photos of the Y-Pipe look awesome. QTP has the grot design their dual cut-out Y-Pipe is killer for a max effort set-up.
FLP & SLP make an excellent product if you want interchangable cats & straight-pipe. FLP is more top-end power (still good midrange) and SLP is a good header for a bolt-on street (very good midrange but top end is not as strong).

Re: Best Headers
Here's what the PPCs look like...
BTW... as Ragtop99 eludes to, stay with 1.75" primaries for a stock shortblock and up to mild cam & heads.

Re: Best Headers
FLP Headers with no convertor and SLP dual exhaust with cutout. A good combination, but I kow there are many to choose from. Good luck in the selection process.

Re: Best Headers
I think I'm getting PPC's in the somewhat near future! After reviewing the different header brands I managed to pick the most expensive one again, but the kit's are almost 100% complete save for O2 simms and they include a cat Y-pipe.
