Default Finally some track times!

Hey guys,

Well I finally made it to the track for the first time ever with this car on saturday night. It is only a 1/8th mile track but to me it was worth going to to get an idea of what my car is capable of.

Before going I was nervous for two reasons...the first being I suck at launching this car and knew I was going to look like an idiot, and the Second being I was worried my car isn't putting out the power it should so I was nervous to see my times, being I didnt want to be disapointed...

ANYWAYS...here are my results, let me know what you think.

Run #1
2.461--60'
9.23 @ 86 mph 1/8th

Run #2
2.339--60'
9.147 @ 85.40 mph 1/8th

Run #3
2.329--60'
9.091 @ 85.14 mph 1/8th

Run #4
2.232--60'
8.943 @ 85 mph 1/8th

Run #5 **(missed 3rd gear shift and coasted through finish line)
2.183--60'
9.134 @ 70 mph

After looking at my runs I guess on my last run where I missed the shift I most likely would have ran about a 8.7-8.8 1/8th...I was pissed being it was my best launch all night!

But after looking at the data base of time slips on this site with the MPH I have with my car, if I could get a decent 60' I should be able to get about 8.6 @ 86 mph...which means I should be running a low 13 second 1/4 mile (13.2-13.3)...Does this sound right? or am I figuring wrong? Let me know what you think it should run in the 1/4 mile...basically I am very happy with the MPH I got being I know it is putting down the power it should.

Great 1/8 mile times for your 1st time out. I would say your car should run low 13's. Good luck.

Yep, I agree that low 13s should be in the cards with the gears banging and a good 60 foot. Practice always helps, and you're getting your 60 foots lower each time, and that's a good thing!

Good luck finding more!
