Default How much power is obtainable on average.

Ok, Im waiting on my HPtuner update for the 01's so I can tune on one yet just scan. I was scanning an 01 formula A4 with H/C & full bolt ons. Well the car made 370+ before the trans went. The tune has been messed with by someone else after the trans went. just for the heck of it, we strapped it on the dyno sat & it only pulled 351hp, thats over a 20hp loss. The only changes that have been made since the last dyno is as following:

New fully rebuilt 4l60e
mini spool
HS 1.7 non adjustable rockers
Racetronix PnP
completely reworked heads

Now, you would think the power would be right back where it was maybe a lil more but instead if fell way off. Now my question is, while I was scanning it at WOT the timing never reached over 21* & the AFR was 12.1-11.9 all the way across the board. Like I said the tune has been messed with since the last dyno. How much power is left on the table but adding about 6* more & leaning it out to around 13.1-1. Could this be the missing power? The graph is smooth no spikes dips or etc, just a steady slope all the way to 6500. Or is there anything else we could check for problem wise? The mods are listed below:

Cartek stage II LS1 heads
226/226 .58?/.58? 113
LS6 intake
Ported TB
Mac Mid lengths
ORY
Cutout
Lid
30lb injectors
Racetronix PnP
Harland Sharp 1.7 non adjustable rocker arms
12 bolt mini spool 4.10's
4l60e with TCI rebuild kit
vigilante 3800

i loaded another timing table into my car the other day,and i can definately feel the difference.no other changes.so i say yeah, leaning it out and adding some timing could easily get that 20hp back.

Absolutely there's more left on the table & btw I've seen 15-20rwhp from my buddy's '99 Hugger SS after lean it out to 13.0-13.1 A/F & adding timing and set it at 27*

peace

I agree, lean it out to 12.8 to 1 while she's strapped to the dyno, should lean more when you drive it on the street. Add the timing back in. Were your cutots open or closed???

Ok, dynoed the car yesterday. First pull was 344hp with 22* of timing & A/F being 11.9-1.

2nd pull added 6* of timing & leaned it out 6% made 357hp with a 12.2-1 A/F

3rd pull added 5* of timing & leaned it out 8% less and made 372hp with the A/F being 13.0-1 straight across the board.

ended up with 33* of timing, no knock retard.

It looks like we found the missing power, but the car is dropping off around 5800 rpm, almost like the converter or trans is slipping. Going to do a little research on that to see whats going on then make another trip to the dyno. If we could have gotten it to pull to 6600rpm then Im pretty sure we would gained another 10-15hp.

Now thats what i was talking about buddy almost 30rwhp at 5800rpm i'd say there's plenty of room to 6500rpm & hopefully ya could find out the prob
